General Summary of Responsibilities:
Completion of assigned client jobs with the most efficient use of manpower, equipment, materials and tools.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Communicate information to the Energy Conservation Coordinator and Energy Conservation Foreman on all activities pertaining to the Energy Conservation department.
Communicate information to the Energy Conservation Foreman on all activities pertaining to assigned jobs.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the problems of low-income.
Perform energy conservation services according to SWS Standards.
Maintain agency and client confidentiality.
Assist clients in applying for agency programs.
Maintain knowledge of agency services and community services for client referral purposes.
Assist in ensuring client and crew safety.
Assist in monitoring safety, caring for accidents/incidents and reporting any property damage, personal injuries, or vehicle accidents according to incident reporting procedures.
Assist in maintaining appropriate job-related paperwork for the crew.
Assist in maintaining and updating department inventory.
Maintain knowledge of city, state and federal regulations pertaining to the department.
Operate agency vehicle for program needs.
Ensure proper cleanup after jobs are complete.
Operate photocopy machine, fax, and calculator.
Assist in ensuring proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of Energy Conservation Department program procedures, SWS Standards, and Employee Handbook.
Continue personal growth through a variety of educational and training experiences.
Position Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 12 months related experience in carpentry or construction industry.
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
Ability to establish a positive rapport with staff, employers, the community and clients.
Ability to relate with others in an open, honest and direct (non-judgmental and non-hostile) manner.
Ability to be a team player in dealing with other staff members and organizational objectives.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach horizontally and vertically, bend, use arms, legs, hands, and feet for fine motor skills, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, crawl, twist and turn trunk, reach down and overhead, push and pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, taste, smell, talk and hear. Must possess color discrimination, peripheral depth perception, rapid mental-muscular coordination and vision correctable to near 20/20. Must be able to crawl into narrow openings, as necessary.
Work Environment:
Works in various environments to include: loud environment, wet or humid, near mechanical parts, in high places, with fumes and airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoors, with the risk of electrical shock, vibrating, with some loud noise. Regularly works outside in varied weather conditions or unheated home interiors.
